Fungal Geophysiology is the final archive album for Sigil Of Time. This music was born 10 years ago and was created to formulate our dark pantheistic feeling we shared at the time, taking its roots in the primordial ritualism, macabre folk-horror and mysticism. This does not clash with the scientific world view as it is a metaphor to describe the existential feeling a human gets while encountering the endless great outdoors. With time the views of the project's members changed and mutated, yet we still wanted to share this material. It is still important for us and we still stand by what we wanted to express artistically back then. When choosing songs for the compilation we wanted to pick the ones that express the feeling of the less anthropocentric view of nature, nature as system and not a mere resource for humans. A symbol of such ecological statement, a strong metaphor for it are the fungi. Like the fungi, part of the ecological system, this compositions embody nature as a phenomena. Geophysiology is the study of interaction among living organisms on the Earth, operating under the hypothesis that the Earth itself acts as a single living organism. Science meets metaphysics, the human existentialism here is part of that organism, yet not the center.
